Dream feed?

My 6 month old was sleeping really well 7pm-6am. 2 weeks ago he began waking between 1am-3am. Initially I didn't think he could be hungry (he eats and drinks LOADS during the day) but he would take a reasonable bf and settle himself back to sleep (he doesn't feed to sleep)

So, as he appears to need a feed I have begun to offer a dream feed at around 11pm and he takes this well and is back to sleeping to 6am.

My question is (sorry got to it eventually) how long do you think I should do this for? How do you know when to drop it - is it just trial and error? Is it common for babies who could sleep through to revert to needing a night feed despite feeding really well during the day?

Think that's all and thanks

Tis probably a growth spurt?

Ds got a dream feed at 12pm til he was 12 months -in the hope it would make him sleep past 5am, we were too frightend to not give it to him incase he woke even earlier-eventually dropped it after realising it was getting a bit ridiculous, it made absolutely no difference to his waking time whatsoever

Thanks - might try a couple of weeks to cover potential growth spurt and then drop 1 night and see if it makes a difference.
