Help! How to keep a 2 year old under his duvet all night!!!

Our DS (2) hated the sleepbags because he is so active in his sleep and would get all tangled up. We got him a duvet (he's still in his cotbed with sides up) which we tuck in at the sides and he goes off all tucked up but come the morning he has crawled out and is lying on top, and saying he is cold. What would you recommend. We haven't given him a pillow yet ...

I've got a sleeping bag for DD that you can convert and zip into two legs.

It was given to me by a friend but I think it came from Vertbaudet.

babyOcho · 19/08/2008 23:33

I've seen these on Bump to 3.

lillypie · 19/08/2008 23:39

here they are

Tidgypuds · 19/08/2008 23:39

Gaffer tape

KristinaM · 19/08/2008 23:47

put him to bed wearing more clothes

Tidgypuds · 19/08/2008 23:57

My DD used to do this.
A fleecy type sleepsuit over his normal bedclothes will do the trick.

onlygirlinthehouse · 20/08/2008 00:14

impossible, turn the heating up

Overmydeadbody · 20/08/2008 00:25

nice warm pyjamas?

glamourbadger · 20/08/2008 19:50

I stumbled upon these duvet clips the other day. Haven't tried them as mine still in grobags but might be worth a pop?

I have the same problem although he never seems to be bothered by the cold. Think I will just get a nice fleecy suit for him when it starts feeling cooler to put on over his pj's, don't like the thought of that zip in duvet thingamajig, imagine if they got stuck in it, surely a toddler could easily wiggle right down to the bottom and panic.

Ds has been the same since about 6 months, would find him out of his covers, but he's always toasty warm when he wakes up, think he must snuggle into the bottom sheet

Shoegazer · 20/08/2008 21:34

My DD doesn't like the covers either - I just make sure she has warm pyjamas on. She doesn't want to sleep with the covers on and she is a bad enough sleeper as it is, who am I to insist?

heymammy · 20/08/2008 21:39

Put a big, cosy, fleecy sleepsuit over his jammies then no need to worry about his covers

lou031205 · 20/08/2008 22:19

Let me know - my DD (2.8) insists on going to bed stark naked, no covers, just on a sheet, with a fan on!
