cant get back to sleep.

ds2 keeps waking up in the middle of the night and wont settle back down.
its really starting to get to us now because its every night, what can i do to get him back to sleep without putting him in with me?
he is 20 months.

We had the same problem, and it went on for a while. We took it in turns by nights. i did one night DH the next ,etc. We reassured him and didn't pick him up, just rested a hand, sometimes this worked and others it did not. We bought a nightlight - this helped him, now we only use it if he wakes up in the night.

what time does he go to bed at?
and how long is he asleep before he wakes?

when does he have a nap in the day and for how long, i presume he has one nap and not 2 at 20mths
