pillows and babies

i am trying not to have PFB and worry about everything but when dd 10 mo had her las cold we popped a pillow unser her cot mattress to tilt it a little and it did help i think

now cold gone we took the pillow out and she's not sleeping as well on the flat mattress will it do any harm if i leave it in place?

my ds had pillow under mattress from day dot until nearly 2 and went into bed with a pillow it will not do any harm at all as most babies are conjested even without signs and keeps airways nice and open

1 year is the recommended age for a pillow but ds had a goi goi pillow (to prevent/correct flattening of the head) from a few weeks old. If it is under the mattress then that would be fine from any age. The worry would be for a pillow that is directly under the head as they could roll face first onto it and suffocate - although not such a problem for an older baby.
