Hi all, looking to buy my 20mo a toddler / single bed. Some friends have advised to buy toddler bed, some have advised to buy a single bed. Please give recommendations on what you think and where best to buy. Thanks to all

we have toddler bed for dd1.It's fine but wish we'd gone for single and bought one of those side bar thingies to stop her falling out.

with toddler bed not able to climb in with her if she needs comfort in night (although many would think this is no bad thing).

Oooh I was posting on here about this not so long ago!

We decided to buy DS a single junior bed from Mothercare - its the same height as a toddler bed so less risk if he tumbles out, but a longer so will last him until he's easily 8/9. It arrived on Friday and its all assembled and looks very nice so on the whole, am reasonably happy.

The only thing I'm a bit about is that the design of the bed doesn't lend itself for going right up against the wall - there is a good 4 inches space and if I move the matress up, it exposes the slats on the other side so will have to get a bed guard for the wall side as well. Its quite narrow as well so you may want to just skip the whole thing and go right to a divan bed with a low base...

Bear in mind though, that some bed guards are only suitable for divan beds so you need to check that. I have bought a baby Dan folding one from SafeTots as it got really good reviews and can be used with divan and slatted bases

Hope this helps?
