apologies if this has been on here before
(have waded through some search results but not found it yet)

hopefully this is a quick question

6month ds has taken to sleeping on his side for the past week.

i roll him back (risking the wake up) but he keeps rolling onto his side.

he doesn't seem to favour either side.

is this ok?

(can you tell he's a pfb?)

I think I've been told that once they can do this themsleves that the risks are less because they can move themselves if they need to. I'm NO expert thoug. My DD - same age - does this and I'm always a bit

from 6 months you can leave them to sleep in whatever position they find comfortable. I always put my lo's on their back at the start of their sleeptime and they always ended up on their tummies with their bums stuck in the air!!

from SIDS website:

My baby keeps rolling onto his front. What should I do?

If your baby is less than six months old and you find him sleeping on his tummy, gently turn him onto his back. Don?t feel you need to keep getting up all night to check on this. Whatever your baby?s age, always place him to sleep on his back.

thanks susiemj and Seona1973

aha! he's past the 6 months so he can sleep upside down and back to front!

thanks for the info and advice
