Our very nearly 6 year old is waking up between 5 and 10 times throughout the night and it’s tiring us out.
Each time, she comes into our room and asks to be taken back to bed and tucked in.
I feel like I’ve tried everything now to stop this. I’ve tried tough love, I’ve tried rewards, I’ve took her downstairs at 4:30 to start the day only for her to get upset and ask to go back to bed even though I’ve took her back numerous times that same night.
This feels worse than the newborn stage and it’s starting to affect our health and ability to cope with working full time as well. Also, I do think it’s taking its toll on her. She’s incredibly emotional and misbehaving more than usual.
I dread hearing her footsteps in the morning because to be honest, I’ve just had enough of seeing her when I’m shattered.
Is this another ‘stage’ they go through? If anyone has any novel ideas of how to get her sleeping through, I would be most appreciative 🥺
