Bedside cots - recommendations?

Hi, I am really tempted by the idea of a bedside cot (due 21 July, second baby, want to make life as easy as possible) but can anyone recommend one that they have used with a wooden frame bed?? I was going to get the M&P one as that's meant to have a bolster to cover the gap, but it's now discontinued and therefore unavailable everywhere.

Some reviews I read say neither Cosatto or Brio are good with a frame bed.

Suggestions/ideas/experience welcome please! Apologies also if in wrong topic but I couldn't see another more suitable one... could be pregnancy brain!

I had a mothercare one - how much of a gap would it leave between your bed an the cot?

I saw one at a baby show - ticked all the right boxes for what I needed but it was HIDEOUS and it cost £250. I spluttered "How much? That's far too expensive!" to the lady at the stall and she was quite upset with me.

We've used Brio for three children. We have a wooden bed with a pine frame. It's been fine.

Man that is ugly! Saw those on eBay and did indeed think 'how much? for that?!'

I was tempted by this one:

but then thought it wouldn't be terribly good value in that it's quite small so surely the bub would grow out of it in about 4mths, and then we'd just have to get a normal cot.

Are you sure that crib is not sold out? I tried to find it when expecting dd2.

I agree, you lo will grow out of the crib fairly quickly but wrt night waking and bfing you'd hope that you wouldn't need to be so near to them at that age as they'd wake less.

M&P crib is definitely discontinued - on a google/kelkoo search the only two stockists don't have any, and M&P aren't making any more of them, plus have rung their general number and they say they don't have any in stock in any of their stores.

So I guess that's a no!
I did think about placing a 'wanted' ad on here... but unless it's nearby shipping would be a hassle. None currently on eBay!

Did also debate a Stokke Sleepi which look fab but are soooo expensive...

We got one from John Lewis. However, dd wouldn't settle in it and ended up in our bed. Months later we bought a superkingsize mattress and have never looked back - worth considering that instead... that way when she moves into her own bed you still have bags of extra space...

M&P said that to me when i was looking about 8 months ago and i spoke to someone in their store and their customer services. Then suddenly they appeared again and i bought one and it is fab!

Also worth trying their factory shop which has a shop on ebay - you can get the details from their customer services.

It has been fab though, a total life saver during night feeds.

We have one fromJohn Lewis. ds probably spends more time in our bed than his cot, but early in the night when I'm still not too tired, he's in the cot, and later when he's in our bed I don't need to worry about him rolling out, because he'll just roll into cot. What kind of wooden bedframe do you have? We don't use anything to cover the gap, just move our matress a little to one side, and the cot matress too, so that there is no gap.
