9 month old suddenly quite distressed at night
backstory has always been a good sleeper would wake at 12 and 4 for a bottle and when he would wake he would not get overly distressed
now in the past few weeks I’m not sure what’s happening but he goes to bed at 7.30 like a dream if he doesent fall asleep drinking his bottle I can lay him in his cot and he will settle himself to sleep .
but after maybe 2 or 3 hours he’s started waking up but not even awake really he just starts crying and thrashing around a lot I can’t occasionally settle him while in his cot but not for long and he starts again and if I pick him up he’ll cuddle into me. And then start thrashing about sometimes quite violently throwing his head back I’ll get him laid down on me and then he’s rolling around like he wants to sleep but can’t get comfy but wether he’s in his cot or my arms he’s completely distressed ( all while he’s got his eyes closed like he’s asleep) I have tried leaving him to see if it passes but it just escalates . He has been teething but at this moment I don’t think he’s got any teeth coming in even after feeding changing ect he’s still the same it’s quite distressing at times
Few things I thought to mention
he eats great has 2-3 meals a day (mostly 3 now he’s 9 months and snacks
h he has 2 naps a day between 2-3 hours
last nap probably 4-5 hours before bed
when he naps in the day he sleeps great and again I always just lay him down to sleep I don’t rock him or anything like that (if he wanted or needed me to I would but he doesent )
eventually he does calm down but is up for the day most days at5-5.30
