2 year old sudden sleep change

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone has experienced something similar or could offer some advice.

My almost 2 year old little girl has always slept in a cot in our bedroom. She has been sleep trained since 6 months old where she happily falls asleep independently for both nap time and bedtime.

However just this week she has started climbing out of her cot in an attempt to get into our bed. We removed the raised side of her cot and have made it into a toddler bed to avoid any accidents but she is now climbing into our bed every time I put her down. I place her in her bed and walk out of the room but she cries and ends up making her way on to our bed and sleeping there.

She used to happily make her way upstairs for bedtime but she now gets really upset when it’s time to go up to bed. So sad to see her like this!

Can anyone offer an explanation to why the sudden change and suggest how I get her to sleep back in her bed?

Thank you in advance

Why not just stay with her til shes asleep in her cot? She might need later bedtime, too.
