3 year old transition to bed

We have a 3 year old who is still in a cot bed. She's not tried to climb out of it and eventually sleeps well so we haven't taken the sides off.
It feels like we need to transition soon (tonight she tried to put her leg over).
I'm dreading it tbh. I've read the technique is to silently take her back to bed when she gets out and just keep repeating.
Anything else we should do?
I don't think we'd be able to put a baby gate in her doorway unfortunately due to the layout.
Her bedroom is child safe.
Any tips appreciated

We put a stair gate across DDs door.

You could try a Stargate on the door there are ones with different fittings but otherwise just keep taking her back to bed that's what I used to do with my oldest son he's 17 now and still doesn't like sleeping 😂

We went to a bed at 12 months, we just keep her door shut? Do it ASAP, I'm so glad we did it early.
