Ten month old waking 5 to 10 times nightly and I’m exhausted

My ten month old still wakes 5-10 times a night and has done since 3 months. I’m feeling completely exhausted and reaching breaking point. He wakes and seems to scream before he even wakes up. He sits straight up or stands and cries. We’ve tried a few different things (sleep training and he did self settle at bedtime for a long time but it didn’t help the night) how he falls asleep on the bottle and comes into my bed in the night. At the moment I feed him a lot as he goes back to sleep quickly but I know this is likely now a sleep association I need to break. I’m just so exhausted in the night I feel it’s better for all of us. Has anyone else still had such bad nights at 10 months and did it get better/any tips? :( my husband works away in military too so him taking over some nights isn’t really an option.

My dd did this around that age too. She started sleeping straight through as soon as we moved her from the cot to a floorbed. It was like magic.

Clearly there was something she hated about the cot though. Maybe worth a try?

I was wondering about this the other day. Just to support him to sleep in his room all night would be a start. I’m just doubtful because in my bed he still wakes right next to me 🤔 worth a try! Thank you.

Same; a floor bed has worked wonders for my daughter. What’s her usual morning wake; nap(s) and bedtime? It sounds like she might need to be tireder for bedtime

I tried everything. The first thing that helped stopping feeding at night. It was tough but took a few nights.
I then did the deeply unpopular controlled crying. We tried patting/staying the room but that drove him insane. We eventually left him to cry, the first night unintentionally but he was waking every 20 to 40 minutes and was so tired couldn't make it to him. He slept after 20 mins and then slept 4 hours straight. Decided to do the same the next night. He cried for 10 mins and then 5 the next night. Was amazing.
I went from being a unresponsive, exhausted parent during the day to being a happy, playing Mum. It was close to our relationship breaking down too. So well worth it.

We got a floor bed hoping it would be the magic wand, and… nothing. I’d say my toddler actually slept better in the sidecar cot than he does in the floor bed 😔 I don’t know what we’re doing wrong! We average six wake ups a night.
