My 11mo did this for a while, think he was going through a clingly stage. He settled really well in our bed, so i let it go.

He is now back to sleeping through, in his cot, so don't panic she will go back to sleeping in her cot.

Its a phase.. they like to be with their mum. My friend had the same problem, but she insisted on her son sleeping in his cot, not her bed, she was up for hours. At least all I had to put up with was a little less bed....

my dd2 went through this at about the same age. could it be hunger? i started giving dd2hipp organinc bvedtime milk which is designed to keep them feeling full at night and she seemed to settle and stay alseep better.

Is she teething?Try giving her some nurofen before bedtime and see if it helps?

peggotty · 21/06/2008 20:52

Sorry just seen that you don't think it's teeth (must read posts properly!)

My 7month had always settled really well but lately he's been really hard to settle at bedtime aswell. Also waking more frequently in the night and hard to settle down after feeds (he's bf). This is unusual as although he still has feeds he always settled very quickly afterwards. Worried about putting him in bed with us though in case he rolled out of bed. Friends of ours have a baby the same age and he fell out of bed once. Also he moves about alot and could he end up under the covers or rolled on?

Surely shes on solids by now?

Sails · 26/06/2008 22:30

My 7 month old is on solids ofcourse he is! But he still insists on being fed during the night. Won't settle unless he's fed so its easier to feed him.

Sorry to hijack but i could say exactly the same about my 8 month old DS.
Usually falls asleep in his cot within minutes.

last 4 nights has taken about 2 hours just to get him to go to sleep.

He's really tired but cries as soon as i put him down/ walk away from the cot.

Is it seperation anxiety?
