Why might 18mo be waking after 45mins instead of 2.5 hours?

Usually once DS is asleep in the evening, it’ll be an average of 2.5 hours until his first wake up.

Tonight, it was just 40 min and last night was 50 min. He’s not drooling or holding his ears so I don’t think he’s teething. He’s on the tail end of a cold/cough so don’t think it’s that. Any ideas?!

Does he wear woolly socks for bed?
Apparently wearing socks for bed enables the best body temp to get you into a deeper slumber!

Maybe ready to reduce nap duration? Sounds like he isn't tired enough to stay asleep. I'd reduce nap or later bedtime.

Interesting food for thought. He’s in a sleeping bag so should be toasty enough.

The nap can be 40 mins - 1.5hrs, and at nursery, I don’t think they cap naps there.

a later bedtime might be something to try, but I’d say he’s shattered at bedtime as it is?!

🤔
