Anyone offer some reassurance that babys sleep will get better? 10mo sleep awful after crawling, pulling up, getting over cold etc!

Our poor little bub has always struggled with his sleep, but we were starting to get somewhere with him finally having 5 or 6 hour stretches of sleep but now, its mostly hourly wakes ups. He randomly did a 5 hour stretch the night before last but me and hubby are up constantly trying to get him back down.

In the last month hes gotten 4 teeth, started crawling, pulling up, gotten over an awful cold... he generally goes down awake but drowsy to sleep but just wakes up screaming, sits up in his cot and most of the time bumps his head 😪

Pretty sure this is a phase given all that has happened to him recently, hes quite a sensitive bubs so cries out and needs a cuddle, not really looking to sleep train as its just not for us (no judgement!) but more just looking for other people's experience, did your bubs go through anything similar and did you ride the storm to get through it? How long did it last for?

Very tired mumma 🤪

It will get better.
I cant promise when (when he's on solids, starts crawling, starts walking, moves into a bed, starts school.....) but I can promise you the vast vast majority of kids get to the point of not needing a parent overnight.

Its relentless while you are in the thick of ut, but every wake is one closer to sleeping through.

PS it's the bright kids who have better things to do than sleep xx

@EmbarrassmentLovesCompany that's such a lovely response thank you. Its so so tough, feel so sad for him getting so upset and not getting the rest he needs. And I also feel pretty awful for us as we are just utterly exhausted. Hopefully it'll get easier sooner rather than later🙏❤️

Mine was awful for sleep between about 10-13 months. Got much better since dropping to 1 nap about 15 months. We've always co-sleep in her floor bed from around 3/4am anyway, so much easier. It will improve!

@Peonies12 thats interesting, to be fair he keeps going 35-40 minute naps at the moment, I tried to rescue his second nap today and he wasn't having any of it, so poorly thing is shattered today, maybe he'll be ready to drop to one nap im the next few months and thay might help him. Thank you though least we're all going through or have been through it!

Yeah mine did mostly 30 min naps from about 4 months until over 12 months! Even now often only 30 mins a day, at 17 months.
