Basically that. Ever since he could talk he sleeps talks. Not just a few words but whole conversations repeadly through the night. He is obviously having really vivid dreams and repeadedly shouting out and crying. He gets so distressed. He also is really angry and thrashes and thumps me. We cosleep as he used to breastfeed through the night. It hurts. Its distressing and sometimes difficult to calm. I never feel like he gets the full night as waking after one of these episodes rather than waking relaxed and refreshed.

I'm pretty sure its not night terrors as its so many times each night and usually starts early hours in the morning rather a couple of hours in.

He hits during day too. But we are working on that. Its terrible getting woken to a sudden tantrum and whack on the nose. He is nearly 3.

Anyone had a similar issue and been able to relax their little one at night?

I think you're going to have to involve professionals. My oldest son had night terrors. He sleep walked with his eyes open. He didn't recognise me. He was around the same age, thankfully outgrew it..why do you still co sleep! Assuming you aren't actually getting any sleep. Is he at a nursery at all, does he hit others? I have heard that cranial massage is good for relaxing babies, young children to help with sleep. Get a good osteopath, check the register..I have night terrors, and sleep paralysis, I don't hit anyone though.
