DS wiggling out of duvet

My 16mo keeps wriggling out of the duvet at night. He outgrew his last set of sleep sacks and instead of buying more we thought we’d just move to a duvet now. It’s been about 6 weeks and he starts off fine in it, snuggling down with his toys and goes to sleep but he is down at the bottom of the cot by 3am with it all pilled up at the other end! He wakes because he’s cold and again about 6am. Any tips for teaching them how to sleep with a duvet?

Get him more sleep sacks. Plenty cheap on Vinted if you're trying to save money.

My almost 3 year old still can't keep the duvet on. I sneak into his room to put it back on him before I go to bed myself.

He's too young.

I don't know if it would work at 16mths, DS had grow bags up to 3yrs. When I transferred him to a bed, instead of a cot bed, I turned the duvet sideways, tucked it in both sides and he wriggled down into it at bed time. He never lost his duvet and never fell out of bed, even without a bed guard.

Just get some sleep sacks on Vinted, they're so cheap there. You only need two. My 15 month old is in a floor bed with a pillow but we're not using a duvet for this reason!

Tuck the duvet in round the sides of the bed and at the bottom like a little sleeping bag
Or get a bigger size or heavier tog perhaps?
I never used sleep sacks they weren't around when I had my DC Blush so remember doing a lot of tucking in and layering blankets! I also liked feather duvets as they're heavier/cosier and stay put more

Thanks for the advice everyone. New sleep sacks have been ordered and are on their way!
