My baby was a pretty 'average' sleeper up until 9 months. He'd have stretches of 3hrs at night waking upset for breast milk each time. We have a great consistent bedtime routine and were even managing to get naps in the cot for around an hour long 2-3 times a day.
He was beginning to learn to get himself to sleep with some gentle shushing and a dummy.
However around 6 weeks ago this all changed. He now screams blue murder if he's not attached to my bo0b at all times. He's refusing his dummy, and actively throwing it if it comes near him. I'm feeding him to sleep for night time and naps as nothing else is working. He is so distressed when my husband tries it I try without bo0b. I'm taking him out in the pram/carrier for naps now and he's (safely) cosleeping with me at night as it's gotten desperate.
He's due to start nursery in coming weeks and I'm back to work so something has to change.
It can't be teething as it's been 6 weeks now.
Really don't want to use a CIA method but getting desperate as both he and I are so tired. He's got little bags under his eyes 😓
Any tips would be greatly appreciated, thank you for reading 🙏

Send your husband up with him and let him get on with it. We had to do the same thing at around 12 months.

It will be hard and there will be crying but he'll learn how to sleep without the boob again.

I had fed to sleep for every nap and bedtime for an entire year, but after two night my husband could put her down more easily and faster than I could.

It's such a weight lifted when all the bedtimes and nap times don't fall to you anymore! It was one of things that I found the hardest about breastfeeding because I was just so touched out. Baby also started sleeping through after we did this too!

I hope something works for you!
