Second baby.
my first was not a good sleeper, now 3 and sleeps great.

my second is 6 month old and has always been a better sleeper than my first. Started sleeping through the night at 9 wks and dropped all night feeds. Didn’t go through the 4 month regression.
When they hit 4.5-5months we started putting them in the next to me in our room to try grab a few hours without baby in the evening, he would fall asleep in our arms, transfer and sleep fine, usually till 5am then we would bring him in the bed till about 7ish.

2 weeks ago we decided it was time for his own cot in his own room as he outgrew the next to me but he caught a horrible horrible cold and had such a bad cough, he barely slept for 3 nights straight, he needed held.
the cough subsided a bit but he was still struggling at night so we brought him in the bed and he settled better.
fast forward ten days and we can’t get him out. he doesn’t settle in the cot at all, and when we transfer him he wakes instantly or within ten mins and we are up and down the stairs all evening. How can this have changed so quickly?! And how can we help?

we can’t leave him to fuss or cry too much incase he wakes the 3 yo. My 3 yo, although a bad sleeper, always transferred fine asleep and it was more from 2am he was bad, so I got an evening at least.

two weeks ago he slept peacefully in the next to me and now he just will not! I don’t wanna keep co sleeping, I like my own sleep space

Buy a bigger bed would be my advice I’m afraid.
