Basically as the title says - my 4 month old won’t sleep. I know about the 4 month sleep regression, but if anyone has any advice I’d love to hear it.

We’ve got split nights, false starts, short naps that she fights. Until about 3 months, she slept really well - pretty much sleeping through the night from about 7 weeks. At 14 weeks, she started waking up every couple of hours, but I just put her dummy back in and she went back off. Now, we can be up for 2 or 3 hours at a time. She’s not hungry or uncomfortable in her nappy, she’s not too hot or too cold. She just wants to be awake.

We follow roughly the same schedule every day, up around 7:30, 1st nap about 9:15-10:45 (but I have to resettle her halfway through, she doesn’t always go back off), 2nd nap 12:45-2:15, 3rd nap 4:30-5:15, then bed around 7:30. If she takes a short nap I adjust the timings but keep to the same wake windows, sometimes adding another short nap to get her to bedtime. I’ve tried shorter wake windows, which didn’t help, and longer wake windows, which also didn’t help and left her miserable all day.

She falls asleep independently, we put her down awake.

I’ve been running on about 2-3 hours sleep a night and I am willing to try anything at this point!

Too much day sleep. 3 hours in the day is plenty at that age. Plenty of outside time and activities. I wouldn't be resettling for naps, if they wake, they are done. Cap nap 3 at 30 min max, even 20 mins. Or if you'd rather not cap naps - later bedtime. Mine was doing 9/10pm bedtime at that age, we only brought it earlier towards 6 months. Co-sleeping has helped a lot with mine, she's 13 months now and I co-sleep with her from about 1am usually.

Thank you! I limited her daytime sleep to 3 hours 15 mins today (was aiming for 3 hours but I also fell asleep 😂). Maybe less daytime sleep seems like an obvious solution, but everything I’ve seen online says 3:30-4:30 hours daytime sleep so I didn’t consider it. I’ve put her down and she seemed much more tired - fingers crossed for a better night tonight!
