Any advice? My youngest has started waking up at 430/5am protesting to go downstairs she shares a room with her sister almost 5 so leaving her isn’t an option. If I take her into our room she goes hysterical wanting to get up. The clocks change soon and I don’t fancy 330am get ups. She was doing fine on 6/630 wake up nap 1230 ish for 1 hour always woken or she won’t go to sleep at bedtime for ages this is usually 7.15/30 I thought it’s too soon to drop the nap but I can’t realistically do this is it looking like the nap is going? Today she’s woke at 4.50am and we’ve been out all morning and pumpkin picking headed home at 11.40 no signs of nodding of in the car took her for a nap at 1230 she went straight off just not sure if to wake her sooner and if this’ll help! 😴😴😴

Glad your able to point that out… for context I have put 27 months as being 2 in this post could mean she is almost 3 or just turned 2 and I’m specifically seeking advice on dropping the nap. I am aware my child is 2 and if you’ve nothing better to add than stating the pure obvious go find another thread to irritate someone on.

later bed time, especially if she isn’t tired. And /or drop the nap.

what sort of physical is she getting? Is she going the park or doing walks playing outside.

When she’s going to bed is she fighting due to over tiredness or does she not seem tired at all?

I think you’re fine to say 27 months given the context!! There is an important distinction between not even 2 and a half yet (probably does still need a nap) and almost 3 (definitely getting ready to drop it). I reckon cap the nap to like 45 minutes max and see if that helps at all. Also, don’t discount waking cold now the weather has gotten a little chiller- I’d add a vest under her PJs and socks.

I'd drop the nap. If she's happy in the day she's getting enough sleep and doesn't need it.

I actually find it quite hard to tell if she’s over or under because sometimes she’ll go into a second wind and be hyper which can seem as though she isn’t tired but I know she is because she was say nodding of at 5ish she gets lots of physical when she’s off from nursery not sure in terms of being in nursery for her few days though she usually seems tired when she’s getting out on them days

Both of mine go feral hyper in the evening when they are really tired, so I wouldn't rely on her seeming tired as a cue. Look for her being more emotional than usual.
