Does Gro Clock always need to be plugged in?

A Gro Clock l ordered has arrived and then l realised it has a power cable. Does it ALWAYS have to be plugged in to work? Just checking as toddler is obsessed by unplugging / plugging things in and turning plug sockets in / off. So we try to avoid having anything like that in their bedroom

What about a socket protector?

Ours needs to be plugged in constantly, it doesn't have a battery so doesn't work without being plugged in. We cut a hole in the back board of the shelves it was on as there was a plug behind so there wasn't a cable to grab.

Bought ours 6 years ago so might have changed.

Yes they do, and even more annoying than that is that once unplugged it doesn't follow time so you have to reset it every time. And they are the least intuitive things in the world to use.

Sounds pretty useless then. I naively assumed it would charge and / or take batteries

Worth looking into, thanks for the suggestion. But they are quite cheeky e.g. figured out a while ago how to open stair gates
