Sleeping bags washing

Hey - my first post on here so please bear with me!
Expecting our first baby in November. Brother in law has given us lots of my niece's old Gro bag sleeping bags. I am a bit paranoid about cleanliness/mites etc so wanted to wash at 60° before using with new baby but the labels all say 40° only. Does anyone have experience washing Gro bags at 60°?
Thanks 😊

Wash at 40. You can always put in zip lock bag and freeze also

Fwiw I dont think I rewashed any 2nd hand ones I received or bought, and no problems ensued.

Yeah, I got all mine from vinted or from friends and just washed at 40.

Unless there’s a drip feed coming that your niece is being raised in a pigsty and not a nice normal clean home then a normal wash at 40 is all they need. Chuck some dettol laundry stuff in though if it makes you feel better.

I've never washed them hotter than 40 and usually only wash them on 30. I only pre-washed secondhand ones if they really smelled (which some did due to pets in their old homes!).
