5 Year old son sleep walking - scared he will hurt himself

Hello all

My 5 year old DS2 often sleep walks but is very compliant and easy to steer back to bed. However, last week we were on holiday and he unlocked the hotel room door and went wandering around the corridor in the early hours. Luckily, DH heard the door shut and put him back in bed but I am frightened he is going to do himself some real harm. He had absolutely no recollection about it the next day and I don't want to make too big a deal out of it to him as he is a sensitive soul. Has anyone else experienced anything similar? Many thanks in advance

I always wondered if this is why MM went missing...
Anyway, we got nightlights, and locked exterior doors. I reckon overheating in bed is an issue -- Only been a problem on hot nights, we found that keeping the bedding/child cooler in bed reduced the incidence.
Good luck.
