Toddler sleepbag or duvet

Hi,
My first and only child will be 2 in a little over a month. He has always worn sleepbags to bed and for naps, different togs depending on the temperature, has always got on fine with them. However in the last week he has decided he absolutely does not want to wear them. Ive been putting him to bed in pyjamas I think are warm enough for the warmer weather we've had this week, no sleepbag or anything else on him.
Im worried he'll get cold in the night and with the colder weather fast approaching I'm wondering what I'm going to do. He is the biggest wriggler in bed, it takes him anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour to fall asleep, in this time he does gymnastics routines and faces every different direction in the bed before he falls asleep. He moves around a lot in the night too. Im worried putting a blanket or duvet over him he might get lost under it, I've seen people say to tuck it in at the bottom but I know at some point in the night his head will be down the bottom!

Any advice welcome. Does anyone else have a wriggley toddler under a duvet?

I should probably add, I say "bed" but he is still in a cot.

We moved my toddler to a bed when she was 2ish. She'd outgrown her cot!

I didn't feel comfortable with her being in a sleeping bag in the bed, as she was sometimes getting out to come to find us, and obviously couldn't walk in it - so we switched to a duvet.

I find her in all sorts of odd places. On the floor wrapped in it. Turned 180 degrees in the night. Sleeping on top of it.

If she gets cold though, she tends to wake and cry. I'm sure you're little one will be fine too! They soon let you know if they aren't...

Duvet is fine at that age. He needs freedom of movement! If his head ends up underneath he will kick it off or roll into a different position. Kids end up in crazy positions.
Is he in a cot bed? Maybe needs a full single!

We switched to a duvet at this age, had a couple of weeks of her waking when she got cold after kicking the covers off but it didn't take long for her to figure out how to tuck herself back in again and 6 months later she sleeps better than ever.
