Hi my 23 months old won’t nap after 11.38 hours of sleep even 10 sometimes did anybody’s child do that if she sleeps 11.38 or 10 hours she won’t nap she will constantly cry and won’t come to me if I force it on her I’m confused that she’s only got such less sleep needs she’s fully active no problems eating etc I’ve tried to put her down she either cry’s or laughs she can stay awake for 11 to 12 hours is this normal is she ready to drop the nap ? Because some days she does 8 hours with nap and stays awake for 10-11 hours but the next day sleeps longer and calmly any ideas

She’s nearly 2? Lots of 2 year olds drop their naps. Unfortunately! Mine did. You’d get the occasional day where she would but generally she refused. She still could’ve done with the nap as she was obviously tired but she forced herself to stay awake. Sometimes she’d fall asleep in the car. By the time she was 3, she literally never napped.

She's probably just had enough sleep for her and isn't tired

That’s what I’m thinking as she just won’t nap after 10-to 11 hours of sleep she does sometimes look over tired but won’t sleep I do want her to drop her nap as I’ve got weddings coming up and she won’t nap in the car so if will be hard she does stay awake after nap for 9-10 hours but I’ve also noticed after 11 above sleep she will stay awake for 11-12 hours then go sleep otherwise she will wake up next day at 6-7 hours which I can’t do with that sleep as I need more due to illness and injections I’m on but I do hope she is ready to drop the nap

She's probably down to a stage where she will nap some days and not others x

She could definitely be getting to the stage where she either naps some days and not others, or where you need to cap how long her nap is so that she's ready for sleep at night.

She may also just not need that much sleep. Both of mine are low sleep needs at and that age would have generally had about an hour nap and slept 9-10 hours overnight.

But the thing is if she don’t nap she wants to go sleep after 8 hours which just messes everything up

It is what it is. A transition phase where neither quite works. My DD has always been low end of sleep needs and fully dropped her nap at nursery at just shy of 2, but she was a bit challenging in the eves and would fall asleep in car at nursery pick up and then be awake all night.

It passes. You can only roll with it and not control it.
