7 month old tired shortly after waking for day

Hi everyone

My baby has just turned 7 months and for at least six weeks she is always shattered around 45-60 minutes after waking for the day. It doesn’t matter what time she has woken up (usually between 7 & 8 am but sometimes from 6am) or what her night has been like (sleeping 8-10 hour stretch or 1-3 wakes) - she is always super tired shortly after. We get her down for her first nap at this point after which she is fine.

Conscious that sleep advice at this age points to moving to 2 naps a day with wake windows of at least 2 hours. But we have no chance of that with her needing a nap so soon each morning.

Should she be having more night sleep to eliminate morning tiredness (she goes to bed around 8pm and usually gets around 11 hours a night)? Or should I ignore the wake windows / nap schedules etc and just let her sleep when she’s tired?!

Thanks!

I would go with what your baby appears to need and not worry too much about nap guidelines. They are useful, but not as much as knowing your own baby. Sounds like she has a nice predictable routine (which she will grow right out of the moment you settle into it!).
