5 months old sleep issues

My baby is five months old and he started to wake up over the last eight weeks every hour and a half to 2 hours in the night. I thought it was sleep regression but after this length of time I don’t think it is and it seems to be that she’s waking for feeding every time. I don’t know how to break this cycle because I don’t feel like she actually needs some milk. she’s not drinking a lot sometimes she’s only having an ounce or so, but it’s every two hours she’s waking up sometimes less. I’m exhausted. I can’t go like this anymore. She wasn’t like this. She was waking up once in the night And going straight back to sleep, but now she’s four times a night I’ve tried to not give her the milk and try and soothe it back to sleep but she won’t. She wants the milk. She’s nowhere near ready weaned she can’t hold her head up she can’t sit up. She’s not putting things to her mouth yet so weaning her isn’t an option.

These kind of sleep disturbances can go on for several months at this age, that in itself isn’t unusual. It is exhausting but keep trying to settle without always offering milk and work round it by napping/partner helping so you get some rest. It will get better. I would be a bit concerned she can’t hold her head up at 5 months? Not unusual she isn’t ready to wean but she should be holding her head up by now for good periods of time? Have you spoken to your health visitor recently?
