Toddler afraid to sleep alone

DD is nearly 3 and very very chatty and energetic at night. Last night she told me she's afraid to go to sleep alone, bribe my heart! So we did a "sleepover" in the spare room and it was rough - elbows and knees in my back all night.

Now she wants her baby brother to move in with her as "I won't be alone and he's my favourite".

He's 5 months so would wait ah least a month.

Any thoughts on this? What can we do about the loneliness without comprising family rest?

Broke my heart! Although bribe might work too 😀

It’s tough, my little guy loves company too.
I’ve co-slept, chatted, sang songs, held hands.

No evenings to myself for five years…
Different for you, as you have a baby too.

I always got into my parents bed, when small.
And then I loved sharing with my sister.

I know I do understand, I loved sleeping in with mum but then I was a late baby with teenage siblings. and if we didn't have baby would be manageable! But I'm more tired today than I've been since she was a baby!! She's never been a restful sleeper unlike DS.

Bed is sometimes the only alone time I get in the whole day...

Let her sleep in a camp bed in your room?

Or just tell her that she's not alone because you're all together in the house. The house looks after you all within it's walls.

That's a great idea. Campbed and not alone.

Also I've been a crap mum today I'm so shattered and irritable. I'm a bad sleeper at the best of times and up at least one a night with baby for 5 months. Thank you 👍
