Good morning
8 month old DS all of a sudden (about 2 weeks now) is refusing afternoon nap - he’s waking up at 4am then first nap around 8am - 9am. Second nap was around 1-2pm for about an hour. He’s refusing to go to sleep in the afternoon, unless I take him out in the pram/car and he’s only sleeping the duration of the walk or the car ride (I don’t want to walk or drive round in the afternoon for an hour or so when before I’d just pop him in his cot and he’d just go to sleep). He lay there yesterday rolling back/foreward, then started crying (left him) he still didn’t go to sleep, so I fetched him back out and we continued with the afternoon. Now I know this is where I’m going wrong, but because he’s not having his noon nap by about 6pm he’s overtired and crying/screaming, after being up at 4am, Im shattered so Ive been giving him his last bottle and putting him in his bed about 7, then he’s sleeping through but up at 4ish.
Which is a great stretch but I just need him hold out a bit later at night to not get up so early the following morning, it’s just happened all of a sudden since he’s dropped his afternoon nap for no reason I can think of. Could it be a feeding thing?Hes not particularly dropped much milk and he’s on two meals a day including fruit afterwards. He’s on 98th percentile so he’s a big boy. He’s been absolutely great with sleep for a while now, it’s just come from nowhere.
Any advice welcome and greatly received x
