Hello! I could really do with some advice please, as feeling very stuck.
My 10.5 month old boy is extremely active and curious (and has been from birth really!). His legs never stop, he's walking (skipped crawling) and he's very strong willed and super fun to be around, although its exhausting.
My question is around sleep and hunger. He does two decent 1 hour naps per day (roughly around 9.30am and 3pm), and goes down usually 7.30pm to 6am on average but wakes every 2 hours. We've done some gentle sleep training, he knows how to self settle and we weaned off the Dummy as he was needing us to put it in every half hour otherwise.
Other than the usual challenges of teething/illness/separation anxiety etc, we think he is still waking every 2 hours at night because of hunger. He is SO active in the day and even though we give him 3 meals (hit and miss) and plenty of (formula) milk, I wonder if he is still waking from hunger at night. We have tried to wean him by extending the time periods at night where he is not fed but he really struggles with this, screams for hours and can get through another 200-400ml at night easily. We hoped the less he feeds at night the more he will eat in the day and then sleep at night, but it doesn't seem to be working.
Any tips? Spoonful of butter before bedtime haha? Or do we just need to accept we have a little duracell bunny who needs the extra milk at night for now... im really torn whether to do something about this or just accept it. All my friends have really chill babies that dont seem to have this issue.
Thank you!
