20 month old sleep regression/separation anxiety?

Hi!
My Little boy is 20months old and has been able to fall asleep independently since around 6months old. 3 weeks ago he started refusing going to sleep by himself, he needs to be rocked, patted etc until he falls asleep. He is now also waking up in the night for multiple hours and not settling. I eventually land up making a floor bed in his room where after 3/4hrs he will fall asleep. He will also fight naps and needs to be put down to sleep for naps with rocking etc.
Im worried we create bad sleep habits by doing this but any other way and he gets completely frantic.
is this separation anxiety? Is there a developmental leap around 20months? Any tips or tricks anyone’s had success with? We already have 2 comforters with him in his cot too. He throws all other teddies out the cot too if we try.

to add to this, I’m 29 weeks pregnant so sleeping on my boys floor and rocking him to sleep just isn’t sustainable long term. Any advice for one tired mama?
