My little girl is 3 weeks old and I’m really struggling to get her off to sleep on an evening because she’s either wide awake or flailing her arms around and waking her self. Due to this I’m exhausted and I keep falling asleep in the bed unsafely with her!

if I try put her in her next to me crib whilst she’s awake she just screams so then I have to pick her back up again. It feels like a vicious cycle but I really don’t want to be falling asleep with her in bed because I would never forgive my self if something happened.

any advice or tips? I know it’s a stage and it will pass but I’m massively struggling.

thanks all x

have you tried swaddling to help with the startle reflex? Appreciate it’s probably a bit too hot for that at the moment though. There are plenty of helpful nhs sources to help, or ring your health visitor
