Frequent night feeds 5MO

My 5 month old boy has never been a good sleeper, however at 4 months sleep regression hit and he's been waking up every 2 hours for the past 6 weeks to feed (breastfeeding). During the day he feeds every 3 to 4 hours. Is there anything I can do to extend his feeding time during the night? I'm so sleep deprived!! Is it perhaps time to start weaning him?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

It’s completely normal. Can you feed lying down and bedshare to maximise your sleep?

Macaroni46 · 12/06/2025 13:23

He sounds hungry. Definitely time to wean him.

Is he having a proper feed? Or is he using it/ depend on it to go to sleep? If he's going 3/ 4hours during the day then he's doing well

I started feeding more In the day and not offering a feed at night until it had been 4 hours since last one.
However baby now still wakes but not for food she just wakes anyway.

My 8 mo still does this. Actually often wakes even more often than that I'm afraid. It won't be forever that's all I can say (this is my third baby).
