When to stop co sleeping with newborn?

Not a FTM here so I should know what Im doing 😂 DC1, if I recall correctly, took well to his next to me and has since slept by himself with occasionally making his way to our bed in the early morning. But DC2 is 4 days old and just won’t settle in the crib. Wakes instantly. I tried swaddling etc but he’d still wake… we are now co sleeping safely, just me and him in our bed and he sleeps like a dream. However, both DH and myself are scared that this is what he’ll get used to though part of me thinks he’s just so little. Maybe I can focus on transitioning him when he is around 1 month? Any recommendations?

Whatever works for you.

DD was in our bed until 3 🤷‍♀️ she's 5 now and still comes through maybe 4 times a week.

I used to just push them into their next to me as we had a sheet/cot blanket that they could slide across into their bed. Not that I can say much as both my children end up in bed with us at some point 😅

Got a 6 year old parked beside me. She doesn't starfish quite as much as she used to so that's nice. Starts the night in her own bed, stays there about 30% of the time.
