HELP! My 23 month old daughter has gone from been an amazing sleeper, always self soothed to terrible. About 10 days ago she started restisting bed time but has gradually got worse where she will only go to sleep if I lay in the room with her. She goes to sleep but is then up numerous times in the night. I have tried the ferber method but ended up giving in last night after nearly 3 hours of whining. So ended up in our bed. I am worried if I put a single mattress in her bedroom I will never get out of this cycle of her falling asleep with me in there and then waking up and realising I`m not there. I was very patient with her last night with lots of reassurance but gave in because I knew she needed sleep. Can anyone help what I could do please from two very tired parents!

No suggestions unfortunately but I’m going through the same thing. DD, who was 2 last week, used to self soothe etc and now wants me sat on the floor next to her cot and takes hours to go to sleep. I’m reducing her nap to 1 hour but it’s not made too much of a difference. If she doesn’t nap she goes to bed a lot easier but is falling asleep at 5pm! Even if I lay down with her in my bed she takes ages to fall asleep. But she seems so tired and whingey before bedtime. No idea what the answer is. Really don’t want to leave her to cry as she gets in a state but maybe that is the answer :(
