DS 2 has started climbing out of cot in morning when he wakes up, at lunchtime nap and at bedtime. Taking ages to get him to sleep at night and now he seems to have decided not to sleep in day as climbs out of cot and can't get him back in it? He is almost 2- is this too early to give up a nap? should I move him to a bed? Is putting him in with his brother, nearly 4, a bad idea. Wondering if someone in room with him might be less tempted to climb out and come out of the room? Any advice very welcome!!!!

I don't really know - I know lots of people's DC's who gave up nap well before 2 - but not sleeping at bedtime might equally well indicate over-tiredness imo. If he's climbing out maybe he needs to be in a bed? (I put mine in beds quite early so never had this tho). My 2 and 4 are in together - has its pros and cons (party time most nights at bedtime, they get on fabulously, but annoy each other if one is trying to sleep and the other being noisy). If my 2 yo dd gets out of bed from her nap she gets put back, but usually goes for it ok tbh - it's bedtimes she's more of an issue, we just do rapid return and yell a bit HTH
