Co-sleeping to cot transition

Hi all

My son has just turned 14 months. From about 7 months he has co-slept with me. Once he went into his own room at 6 months, I did try to keep him in the cot but sometimes I could be sitting there for 90 minutes trying to get him back to sleep and the nights got colder etc and he would sleep solidly next to me and I liked him being there. Husband has always slept in spare room.

Anyway, now that he's older and bigger I feel our co-sleeping journey has come to an end as its no longer working, he keeps waking up and I'd like my husband back as I feel its affecting out relationship.

So back in the cot he has gone and me and husband are taking it in turns to go to him when he cries. We are three nights in now with mixed results!

He goes to bed at 7pm and then usually wakes around 10:45pm, which was the point I'd always bring him in the bed so he's getting quite upset and not settling at the fact he's not coming in! This can go on until midnight when he finally has a bottle but even last night after his bottle it was 2am by the time he eventually settled and went back to sleep.

Has anyone done similar or have any advice? Is it just a case of persevering and he will adjust? Or is there anything we could try? Won't do cry it out though I don't believe in that method.

Hey,
I’ve got no advice other than to say I’ve just moved my 6 month old into her own room and I’m fully there with you in the no sleep club 😩
trying to persevere at the minute but really wearing me out
