Is anyone else rubbish at putting their baby to sleep

My baby is now 15 weeks old and it seems like everyone else can put her to sleep but me. I can only ever put her to sleep by the breast or in the pram or in the car. Anyone else experience this?

It’s normal op! Your baby will want your milk because it’s comforting and she feels safe and secure with you doing that!

my boy is 11 months now and no bother going to bed for husband at night or naps in his cot

but if I’m around at all he won’t settle until he gets boobs!!

Yep.
DS fed to sleep until about 2 and DD is 1.5 and still feeding to sleep.

For me, it's easy and natural but also time consuming and frustrating at times.

If it's not working for you, I'd change to a bottle / soother/ whatever now rather than later.

I don't mind it most of the time, it's just frustrating when I'm out somewhere and need her to sleep without me pulling out my boob lol. Glad to read I'm not the only one

It’s honestly such a comfort thing for them, but yeah, not always practical. I started introducing a soft comforter around that age, and it helped a bit, especially when others were trying to settle her.

I sympathise, I too wasn't very good at it, and both kids were very dependent on me for bedtimes for many years. I also got frustrated that everyone else seemed to have this dialled.

They don't stay that dependent for long though. I still tuck in at 8 and 11, but no more labour intensive bedtimes.

Also, it's it always as easy to make a change as people stay. But you can get a kindle and read in the dark!
