Dummy and sleep association

Hello!

second time mum but first time using a dummy! Whilst I love it for convenience (especially with a toddler in tow), my little one has started to wake up a tonne in the night needing it replacing. She’s only 3 months and I’m dreading the potential sleep regression and this need increasing!

also worried we’ll start reinforcing the need for the dummy to connect sleep cycles rather than learning to self settle. Toddler is currently going through it at night too, so we’re on fumes and my mind can’t make a decision on the dummy front, so hoping for help/advice

however I’m worried we may be ditching a lifeline to help soothe when she’s teething?

any advice welcome 🤗

My dd loved her dummies. As she got a bit older I just put spares in the cot for her to grab. I didn't see a problem with them. Cut her day one out at 18months though she had them for sleep until she was 4.

I did start panicking when I couldn't get her off them however my DM assured me she would stop when she was ready. Sure enough she came home from school one day and said I'm too old for these and that was the end of that. I miss the dummy days haha!
