My DD (just turned three) has never been one to go to sleep without any fuss. I put her to bed about 8 and read her a story, but then she wants to get up and play in her room. If I insist she stays in bed she makes a big fuss and says she can't sleep. If left alone she'll then play in her room until about 10:30 when she'll call for me to tuck her in to bed. I don't think she's getting enough sleep. She's recently been a bit naughty at nursery and they think she's tired. We get up quite late (about 8:30am) and I always have to wake her up. Also, recently she's been shouting for me to go up stairs to her every few minutes. I don't like ignoring her, so I do go up (much to DP's disgust). Has anybody got any ideas how I can encourage her to go to bed earlier?

why not get her up earlier? set the alarm for 7. the first day she will be tired, maybe let her nap for an hr in the morning (does she normally nap?) ie 1030 or 11, then have tea earlier and get her ready for bed at 7, pj's, story and chat then in bed at 8.

sorry if not much help, cant think of much else!

Is she napping in the day? If she is then try not to give her a nap as I find that DD is up later at night if she does.

Hi - She doesn't nap during the day. I'll give getting her up early a try next week I think. Thanks for your replies.
