Firstly I am absolutely aware of the safe sleep guidelines and followed them fine with my firstborn, however my 2nd born is 2 weeks old and will not sleep on his back. He will wake within ten minutes of being placed down on his back. I supervised a nap today with him on his side and he slept for ages, he is clearly most comfortable on his side.
Now what are my options here? Do I assume silent reflux and speak to GP (tilting cot doesn't help) or are some babies just side sleepers? Has anyone let their baby sleep on their side and are there any good monitors that would alert me if he wasn't breathing etc? I'm not getting any sleep over night due to either having to watch him or hold him to get him to stay asleep.
Any advice appreciated but as I say I am aware they should be on their backs ideally.
