6 month old wakes at 4am and only wants to sleep on me at that time

Hi all,
My 6 month old has never slept too much during the day, only 4 30 minute naps a day (wish I could get them to sleep longer) which has never impacted their nighttime sleep. They usually go down about 7:30pm and sleep through the night. Recently, they’ve started waking up at 4am, chatting to themselves and scratching the sides of the cot. I’ve offered bottles but they’re not interested. The only way they’ll go back to sleep is by getting into bed with me but as soon as I put them back in their next to me, they wake up! Looking for any advice if anyone’s been through the same or has any tips and tricks!! Thanks in advance :)

They've slept 8.5 hours, that's a huge chunk of sleep for a 6 month old. I'd just take them back to bed with you. Do you feed them, they're probably hungry?

Sorry, you said in your post you've offered bottles.

What happens if you just leave them to it? Perhaps they'll doze off again.

@TeaRoseTallulahunfortunately they’re wide awake and ready to start the day if I leave them to it! I’ve been ok with putting them in my bed but I get no sleep whatsoever!
