Naptime nightmares!

I've posted before about settling my baby to sleep, thankfully after some light sleep training he (now 9 months) goes in his cot approx. 15 minutes before bedtime and settles himself to sleep beautifully- hurrah! Initially this also helped him to sleep longer periods overnight, but now I'm lucky if I get 3 hours sleep as he wakes up screaming!

He won't settle for naps at all, we've had the odd success and then rack our brains as to what we did differently but the majority of the time he just screams and screams, and completely rejects any type of comfort other than getting him out of bed. We're doing a mini bedtime routine for each nap and put him in his sleeping bag with appropriate wake windows but nothing seems to make a difference.

Help! What has worked for you? I don't mind the night so much as I'll just feed him (although he is now feeding more overning than during the day!) but I'm finding the naps quite challenging.

I have considered it, we've got an online course but I think I'd need a 1-2-1 now and just can't afford it.

how dark is the room for naps? if settling well and fine at bedtime and the room isn't as dark for naptime it can be a major distraction because they can just see things. they get fomo and don't want to lay down and go to sleep. my DS is like this and his room for naps is dark, and I mean dark, dark. we have a sheet of blackout material cut to the size of his window and it goes up behind the curtains and is secured with velcro type command strips.

What’s his overall routine?
