Hi all, I've recently been night weaning my 14month old. We co sleep and i breastfeed. At first I gave him reduced feeds at night. Now I don't give him any. I have to rock him back to sleep but occasionally hes happy with a pat and or cuddle. The problem is 3-4am he wakes up for his "5 am feed" screaming and tossing and turning and just being completely inconsolable. I can't put him back to.sleep. I keep trying but th3n it his 5am and so I feed him. Any advice?

Personally I’d just feed him. He may be genuinely thirsty or hungry or even if it’s just for comfort that’s ok too.

He used to wake up way too often, I'm trying to get him to sleep through the night now and he's doing great but as soon as it hits 3-4am, boom, major meltdowns. I just want to get to 6am.

I don’t have any advice really, my little one won’t be settled by anything other than boob in the night so I haven’t really had a choice.

Sounds like little one is doing super well with the changes. I don’t know if it’s saved to a highlight but I think Lucy Webber feeding support on instagram has one somewhere on a poll of night wakes by age which may be of interest and possibly has other useful info on feeds and night weaning etc.

Good luck 😊
