STILL not sleeping

Looking for moral support, shared experiences or just some hope this will eventually get better!
my son is 9 months old and has always been a terrible sleeper. For the first 6 months it was frequent wakings then we reluctantly sleep trained and for about 3 weeks he slept very well in his own room. Since then it’s been back to frequent wakings and he only sleeps and settles when in bed with me in my arms which is absolutely lovely but not sustainable forever and we (astounding I know) want more children soon. He also resists naps and they are never consistent, vary in time, frequency and whether they happen at all. We have tried EVERYTHING in terms of routine, feeding, environment, daytime activities you name it! He goes to bed okay and maybe does about 3 hours then wakes up at night over and over and over. Please any hope this will end.

Poor you, I went through this with mine too. What’s your/his daytime routine?

milkandthreesugars · 05/03/2025 20:07

Also is he feeding in the night?

At least we aren’t alone! His daytime routine varies but try to get out and do something with him every day either a group, soft play, swimming or just out shopping. His naps are so irregular but he will nap around twice a day one AM and one PM.

What happened initially to stop the self settling he learned in sleep training? Did he get sick/teething?
