Sleep advice

Bubs is almost 6 months old.
We've tried a couple of different sleep training methods - pick up/put down and Ferber, and both were going sort of well - sporadically. But lately it feels like we're majorly going backwards.
Will go down between 7am and 7.30pm fine. But come 2am seems to be up for a party, I continue to do timed check ins - 10mins or so but they never settle. This can go on till 4.30am.
Last night I gave in and took them into our bed, but they won't even sleep in our bed.
Naps are also hit and miss, will only go for 30mins at a push. Yes contact naps would go longer but I've a school drop off and pick up so it's not practical.
I don't really know what else to try.

Hello,
Me and the Mrs have been there and I would recommend maybe trying your best to not allow naps towards the end of the day.
As then maybe the babie will be more tired so not waking up?
My wife also made a area and filled it with mind engaging toys obviously when our son was a little older.
Also haven't tried it personally but I have read of just leaving the baby for a night even if they are crying to allow them to learn or something not too sure about this as its something i wouldn't do but i saw someone say it worked for them and that it's backed by science.
I hope this helped in anyway.

What really helped our baby maybe she was 7 months by then was drop to 2 naps which meant the naps went longer than 30 mins and an earlier bedtime eventually she extends her naps and goes back to bed at 7pm and not 6pm.

Could you explain this a little more?

I've been thinking that myself, but at the moment their wake windows are about 2.5hrs max, super grumpy otherwise.
The last couple of days though I have let them have whatever length of nap in their cot, so 30mins if I'm lucky, no contact naps. And I've left 3hrs before bed and (touch wood) they have slept through the night. Could be a fluke, but it'll take it cause earlier in the week we were awake for hours in the middle of the night.
