13 month sleep regression?? So confused!

Hi all,

My DD is nearly 13 months, shes normally on 2 naps such as below

8am wake up
nap1- 11/11:30 1.5hours

Nap 2- 3/4pm 30 mins - 1 hr

Bedtime between 8/9pm (normally 4 hours wake time before bed)

Now the past few days she has been completely skipping the 2nd nap, she used to do this on the occasion so I would just pop her to bed earlier maybe at 7pm.

But this week its been a nightmare! She will skip the nap showing zero signs of tiredness, we put her to bed early at around 7pm as she was awake from 1:30pm and she only slept 45mins before waking up ready to go again. Today I tried to offer the nap at 5pm and she took a while to fall asleep and woke immediately when transferring to the crib. So I thought ok, shes not tired but then she proceeded to have a meltdown an hour later. So after making sure shes fed and had her milk I put her to bed, she woke up 30 minutes later.

I dont mind her skipping naps but its been such a battle this week with nap and bedtime protests, if she goes to bed late she will still wake up by 8am sometimes earlier.I feel like I cant win?? Any advice is welcome please!!

If she's going down to one nap, I would move that nap later and keep her awake longer in the morning. Then she'll nap longer as she will have more sleep pressure but hopefully be less likely to feel she needs a second nap. At the moment it sounds like when she goes to bed for the night she thinks it's nap no.2.
