When did your babies learn to self settle?

My 9 month old just sits up and plays whenever I put her down. She used to self settle sometimes before 8 months but now seems impossible!

Just wondering when did people see their babies self settle (without doing any sleep training)??

Ps I know all babies are different.

My 4 year old is just about starting to learn it, my 2 year old nowhere near yet.

Eldest 2 and half years.
Youngest 6 months.

About 14 months.

I found the 9-12months very challenging sleep wise. At around that age she really needed two naps but would often sleep until around half seven in the morning and only want her first nap at around half ten. If she slept for an hour and a half then which she easily could then she’d wake at 12 and want her second nap at around four and then late bedtime and late lie in the next day.

Sorry to be facetious, but at the age of 5 we gave up and moved her bed into our bedroom! At the age of 8/9 (maybe?) she had her own room. Never we hardly see her 😪..teenage years. (We are a normal family honestly 😂).

Hope it works out for you.

Mine was about 3, but she didn't sleep through until she was 6
