Velcro Baby help needed

Mum of an 8 week old boy in desperate need of help. I can't get him to sleep in the next to me crib for the life of me. We have to co sleep at night following the lullaby trust guidelines, and in the day, he will not settle anywhere else but on me.

I can baby wear, but I'm getting to a point where my back desperately needs a break!

I have a mobile attached to the crib, which helps me sit him in there when he's awake, but not for long. And he will go down in it once he's asleep but wakes up within five mins. I've tried arms up and arms down swaddles, white noise, placing a muzzy down my top and putting that in with him, but nothing seems to keep him settled in there for long. The most we had was 45 minutes.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

@Shankerbelle ah I'm sorry - velcro babies can be hard but he's so little and it's so understandable. The only thing you can do is keep trying and eventually he'll start linking sleep cycles.

For what it's worth with my first she primarily napped on me in the day and her nighttime sleep still improved, so don't worry if the day time sleeps stay as is - it's better he's rested and not overtired for the night.

Quite often it's a temperament thing and there's not a lot you can do about it until they're older - the only tip I have is make sure you're putting him down feet first, keep your hand on him for a bit, and see if he clenches his fist around your finger (if he does he's not in a deep enough sleep) x
